I like to roast eggplant on the grill for babaganoush
but it's rained every day this week so I put one in the
oven last night instead. I forgot to prick the skin...
Then I heard a muffled bang from the kitchen. I'll remember
to prick the skin next time.

Oh- that's no good! That musta been fun to clean up!
It actually wasn't too bad. The fruit stuck to the stem at the top and laid out over the flattened skin. I was still able to make the babaganoush, it just didn't need as much food processing!
Not quite as bad as your potato story but still scary!
